Donnie was a Maryland State Trooper for years. He married Susan "Sue" Walters from Frostburg.
He had moved to Apple Valley, Minnesota where he passed away on Saturday, 01 October 1997 at Union Hospital, St Paul, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles "Chuck" Smith; and one sister, MaryLou (Smith) Rogers.
Surviving are his wife, Susan (Walters) Smith; one daughter, Tracy, and one son, Todd; three grandchildren, Derek, Jessika, and Zakary; three brothers Jimmy, Hank and Marty.
At his request, after cremation there will be a Memorial Tribute at the Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Avenue., Apple Valley, Minnesota on Wednesday 08 October 1997.
