Nola L. (Creason) Anderson of Drasco passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at home at the age of 88. Born January 2, 1924 at Wolf Bayou, Arkansas, Nola was the middle daughter of Martin A. Creason and Beulah E. (Sharp) Creason.


She attended Concord Schools, graduating in 1941. She was proud that the class of 1941 chose the school colors and team mascot. Nola was married October 11, 1941 to Kenneth L. Anderson. They moved to St. Louis, Mo. to work in the defense industry until Kenneth entered the Army in 1942. Ken and Nola lived in West Plain, Mo. after WWII until they moved to St. Louis in 1954. They lived there until retirement in 1985 when they returned home to the Creason Farm in Drasco. Nola was active for many years in the Drasco Fire Department Auxiliary, the County Extension Club, and the Cleburne County Historical Society. She was a loving homemaker all her adult life with at least one child in her home from 1943 to 1985. Nola was preceded in death by her parents of Wolf Bayou, Arkansas; her husband, Kenneth; and her sister, Wilma Hawkins of Memphis, Tenn.


She is survived by her sister, Nellie Creason Fullerton and husband, John; her children, James Anderson and wife, Cheryl of Chickasha, Okla., Janice Byrne and husband, Robert, of St. Louis, Mo., Jerry Anderson of O'Fallon, Mo., Joyce Gudermuth and husband, Jay, of Drasco, Jennifer Cruts and husband, David, of St. Peters, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.(2015)
