RICHMOND--Rudolph Von Pein Fienning, 87, of Richmond, died September 27, 2012 at Reid Hospital after a short illness.

He was born November 2, 1924 in Richmond to George H. and Sophia F. Von Pien and lived in Muncie most of his life, returning to Richmond in 2011.

He retired as a plate maker in the printing industry. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Muncie and attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Richmond.

He was a member of Muncie Lodge #433 F&AM, Ball State University Sympathy Club, and the Graphic Arts Union.

Survivors include three children, Sophia Georgianna (Ron) Powell, Ronald D. Fienning of Richmond, and Gregory (Debbie) Fienning of Hamilton, OH; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Bain of Richmond, Marie (Dudley) Clark of Virginia, and Lucile Demps of Tennessee.

His first wife, Rubye, died in 1986; his second wife, Norma, died in 2012. He is also preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at Stegall Berheide-Orr Funeral Home, Richmond, with Rev. Bob Meckley officiating and Masonic Memorial Services. Burial will be at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie. Friends may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Foundation, 900 W. White River Blvd., Muncie, IN 47303, or Reid Hospital Foundation for Hospice Care, 1100 Reid Parkway, Richmond, IN 47374.
