Patricia Mae Olson, 85 years, of Sturgeon Bay, was called home on Friday, May 25, 2012.

She was born May 4, 1927 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Donald and Bessie (Ericksen) Palmer. Pat graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1945, Lawrence University in 1949 and St. Norbert College. Pat taught first grade in the Southern Door School District for many years, beginning at the East Maplewood Schoolhouse. On October 28, 1950 she married Edward Olson at Bay View Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1971.

Pat was a member of Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church and its Honor Circle, and life member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of many organizations, including Friends of the Library, Friends of the Clearing, Crossroads, the Maritime Museum, Door County Land Trust, The Ridges Sanctuary, Friends of Whitefish Dunes State Park and the Weavers Guild.

She enjoyed walking, golfing, bowling, knitting, weaving, reading, playing bridge and solving puzzles.

Survivors include her three sons, Christopher (special friend, Steffanie Stafford), Edward (Bonnie), Charles (Lynn); grandchildren, Shane, Kristi, Cassandra, Michael, Eric, Jonathon, Matthew and Bradley; eight great grandchildren; sister, Myrle Welhaven; sister-in-law, Margaret Palmer; nieces and nephews; and many friends including Madelyn Ostrand and Ray Stonecipher.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Edward; infant son, Thomas; brother, Don Palmer; and sister, Rosemary Foshion, brothers-in-law, Jack Welhaven and Victor Foshion.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at the Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church with the Rev. Dr. Matthew Knapp officiating.

Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
