Olleen Anderson Durham, age 72, of 8 Holcomb Ave., died at her residence Tuesday afternoon Feb. 6, 2001 after a one year decline in health. Mrs. Durham was born in Danville on November 3, 1928, a daughter of the late George E. Anderson and Mamie Warren Anderson.
She was married to Raymond E. Durham who died in 1965.
Mrs. Durham was a graduate of Cobb Memorial High School in Ruffin, N. C., and had spent most of her life in Pelham, N. C., and Danville. She worked as a quality auditor for Dan River Inc. and was a member of Forest Lawn Baptist Church where she had sung in the choir since 1956.
Survivors include two daughters: Patsy Durham Cox of Danville, and Judy Durham Wells of Crystal River, Fla., and three grandchildren: Travis Wells of the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Drum, N. Y., and Frank L. Cox, III, and Christie D. Cox both of Danville, and one great grandchild: Tyson Wells of New York, and three sisters: Mary Watlington and Maxine McDowell both of Danville, and Doris Evans of Ninety Six, S. C., and two brothers, George E. Anderson Jr. of Danville, and James Randall Anderson of Colonial Heights.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Larry Durham and Rev. Tim Nuckles. Interment will follow at Mountain View cemetery. The family will receive friends at the the funeral home on Thursday from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m., and at the residence at other times.
