Eleanor M. "Suz" Mitzelfelt, 66, of 7672 Warner Road, Manito, died at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at Pekin Hospital.
She was born Sept. 5, 1940, in Springlake Township near Manito, the daughter of Theodore Paul and Sarah Vance Beebe. She married Jerry Mitzelfelt on May 3, l959, in Manito, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2006.
Two brothers also preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter, Paula (Gary) Holaday of Manito; and three sons, Michael Mitzelfelt of Pekin, Craig (Jeanette) Mitzelfelt of Peoria and Jeff (Tatsuko) Mitzelfelt of Mason, Ohio. She has three brothers, Donald Beebe of Mason City, Melvin (Mary) Beebe of Manito and Roger (Darlene) Beebe of Topeka. Also surviving are six sisters, Marge (Bill) Vogel of Braidwood, Marla Look of Utica, Wilma (Charlie) Campbell of Havana, Lillie (Al) Hinthorn of Pekin, Janet (Glen) Naugle of Lincoln and Della (Dale) Burks of Manito. She has nine grandchildren.
She owned and operated the Home Shopp in Havana for more than five years, retiring in 2004. Suz attended the South Pekin Congregational Church and enjoyed antique hunting and auctions.
Graveside services will be at the Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito, with the Rev. Tom Cone officiating. There will be no visitation. Maas Funeral Home in Manito is in charge of arrangements.
