Katherine Elsie Dixon Schofield
1920 - 2012

Our sweet wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Katherine Elsie Dixon Schofield passed away at home on September 25, 2012, in Payson, Utah. Katherine was born on December 13, 1920, in Echo, Utah, to Harvey Dixon Jr., and Emily Sarah Grow Dixon. She married Arthur Wayne Schofield on October 24, 1941, in Malad City, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized on November 18, 1965, in the Oakland California Temple.

Kathy graduated from Weber High School in Ogden, Utah. As a new bride waiting for her husband, while he was serving in World War II for 2½ years, she worked at one of the local banks in Ogden, Utah. Later in life, she worked at See's Candy in the University Mall in Orem, Utah.

Mother was a beautiful singer on the radio and with the big bands of the 1940s. She spoiled many children with her baking skills and special treats. She held many, many callings as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, from Primary to Relief Society president. She worked many years in the Oakland California Temple. She hoped to be a temple greeter on a chair at the front doors of the coming Payson Utah Temple, and we are sure that in spirit she will.

Katherine is survived by her loving husband, Art; their daughters: Sandra Lee "Sandi" Napierski, Payson, UT; Abbie Jane Gillespie, Danville, CA; 12 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and 13 brothers and sisters: Baby Girl Dixon, Charles Harvey Dixon, Riley Grow Dixon, Emma Fern Dixon, Samuel Wilkinson Dixon, James Frederick Dixon, Elwood Grow Dixon, Kittie Virginia Dixon, Myrle Vivian Dixon, Harold Grow Dixon, Beulah Dixon, Grace Dixon, and Wanda Dixon.
