BURTON
Alice Citta Burton was born Aug. 2, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was the daughter of George and Emily (Svacina) Citta. Alice passed away Aug. 19, 2000 at the Lucas County Health Center of a heart ailment at the age of 69.
Alice was married to Vernon Burton and they had two sons. They moved to Lucas County in 1971. They had lived in Chariton before moving to Lucas to a farm. Alice had worked as a store clerk and at Lucas Products. She had been a cub scout leader and had helped with the John L. Lewis Museum.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, George. Survivors include her husband, Vernon of Lucas; her sons, Vernon Burton, Jr. and wife Linda of Knoxville, Iowa and Charles Burton and wife of West Redding, Conn.; two brothers, Ernest Citta of Springfield, Neb., and Jacob Citta of Omaha, Neb.; four grandsons and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her very much.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000 in the Fry Hill Cemetery, rural Lucas. Pastor Todd Enterline officiated at the services. A luncheon was held in her honor at the Lucas Community Center after the service.
