He also enlisted in Chambersburg January 27, 1864, mustered into federal service there February 10 as a private with Co. D, 187th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company August 3, 1865.
He married Caroline Elizabeth Souders and fathered infant (b. 09/26/66, d. 09/27/66), Susan Rebecca Jane (b. 10/04/67 - married David H. Russell and Charles A.
