Susanna was born the daughter of Marcus and Agatha (Vogel) Lander. She married Nickolas Karl Wampach on July 5, 1881 in Fairfield (Dakota), MN. Together they had 5 children: Mark Nicholas, Charles, Gephardt Sylvester, Josephine, and Marie Susanna Catherine.

Nicholas Wampach a well known and highly esteemed farmer died at his home a short distance south of this city, Wednesday evening Oct. 12, 1898, aged 41 years and six months, after a severe lingering illness of eight weeks from pneumonia.
The funeral will take place this morning from St. Mark's church this city at 10 o'clock.
As before stated, deceased was well known and highly respected by the citizens in and about this city, having located here with his parents when but a boy of ten years. His untimely death is a severe blow to his surviving widow and family of four children, two boys and two girls.
He was born in Luxembourg, Germany, in 1857 and at the age of eight years came to America with his parents who then settled at New Trier, Dakota county, and after a residence of two years there moved to Shakopee, shortly afterwards settling on a farm. In 1880 he was married to Miss Susan Lander, sister to G. S. Lander of this city, who in moderate circumstances and with her family of young children has the deepest sympathy of the entire community.
