I will add more info on my mother at a later date.....

Nancy C. (Atkinson) Turner, 65, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, in Greenwood. She was a resident of Greenwood.

She was born Sept. 21, 1947, in Brazil, Ind., to Charles and Ruth (Overman) Atkinson. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1965.

She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a teenager in 1963, where she met and later married Steve Turner in Salt Lake City.

She went on to graduate from real estate school in 1975. She worked for Ebeyer Real Estate for four years and Carpenter Realtors for two years.

In 1983, Nancy started working for Inland Mortgage and became a mortgage loan officer, working in that position for several years. She was employed by Winterwood Mortgage until recently, when she became semi-retired due to illness.

She enjoyed scrapbooking, traveling, church activities, giving service, plays, the arts and spending time with her nine grandchildren.

The diamonds of her life are her four children. They were her most precious possessions.

Her lifelong real estate career and her relationship with the Savior were most important.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Nadeen Atkinson; a sister, Karen Ayers; and a baby brother.

Surviving are her four children, Laura Turner of Indianapolis, Camille (Sean) Evans of Danville, Steve (Courtney) Turner of Indianapolis and Kirk (Angel) Turner of Greenwood; her nine beautiful grandchildren, Nathan Hawks, Crystal and Abigail Evans, and Adrianna, Chase, Gavin, Liam, Maddax and Jonnie Turner; a sister, Darlene Atkinson (Mike Lindstedt) of Indianapolis; two brothers, Charles (Jeanette) Atkinson of Memphis, Tenn., and Mark Atkinson of Indianapolis; and countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.

She will be missed dearly.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 900 E. Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the service time Friday at the church. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation in Nancy's honor to a charity of your choice.
