"Wisconsin Births and Christenings, 1826-1926", database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XTM3-M96 : 30 January 2020), George Barrett, 1893.

He was married twice, and had several children; his children from his first marriage would be passed off and raised by other people, and then take their surname. In the 1920 U. S. Federal Census, George is living with his mother, who re-married a Joseph Baurain; George Barrett's children were "Lucie" Barrett; and Ronald Barrett. On his WWI Draft Card, he is living at 865 N. Division St., and says that his wife died and he has two children. George was an extremely unkind husband. His wife died from being kicked in the stomach by him, because they were having too many children. I believe that his first wife has an obituary. He then re-married an Aldrich, who was previously married and divorced, and who would claim George's children from his first marriage as hers.
