Edith Roseann Meddings, age 74 of Connersville, passed away on Wednesday April 6, 2011 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN.
Edith was born in Connersville on December 2, 1936, the daughter of the late Harry and Gladys White Griggs.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother that loved to travel and spend time with her family.
She had worked at Lincoln Manor for 15 years as a nurse's aide until her health did not permit her to work. She also loved going fishing, boating, mushroom hunting, playing bingo, and camping.
She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Wert of Milton, Carolyn (Gerald) Pollitt, Lorrie (Mark) Garrod and Cynthia Meddings all of Connersville; three sons, Rex Lewis of Connersville, Daniel Lewis of Corbin, KY and Terry Meddings of Connersville; a brother, Jerry Griggs of Rawson, OH; seven grandchildren, Kim, Sara, Joey, Jamie, Bobbie, Amber, and Rachel; great grandchildren, Alisha, Michelle, Amanda, Paula, Josie, Garrett, Gyeland, Kylee, Kendyl, Hannah, Braxton, Jimmy, Annie, Emily, and Bonnie and great great grandchildren, Braden, Seth and Abel; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Harry Griggs; a daughter in law, Peggy Meddings and two granddaughters, Edith Christine Moffit Swope and Kimberly Lee Moffitt Shepherd .
Funeral services will be held at Urban Winkler Funeral Home on Saturday April 9, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rev. Troy Slagle officiating.
Burial will follow at Westside Cemetery in Milton.
