Born July 28, 1912, in Guilford Township, she was a daughter of the late William and Annie M. Beaver Appel.
She retired from the former Stanley Co. in 1975, with 33 years of service.
Mrs. Wadel was a member of King Street United Brethren Church, Chambersburg, and its Buds of Promise Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the church's Women's Missionary Fellowship. She had been active with the Jolly 60s and enjoyed working word puzzles.
She is survived by son L. Landon and wife Patricia Horn of Fayetteville; stepdaughter Ruth (Mrs. Ronald) Hall of Carlisle; stepson Glenn E. and wife Mary Wadel of Downingtown; and two granddaughters, Angela M. Horn of Zullinger and Karen M. Horn of Chambersburg. She is also survived by five stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat grandchildren; a sister, Catherine M. Martin of Chambersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd M. Horn, on March 30, 1959; her second husband, Bruce L. Wadel, on Dec. 31, 1980; four brothers; and four sisters.
Interment, Grindstone Hill Cemetery, near Chambersburg.
