Charlie Hunter Davis, 83, of Wake Forest, died Friday, September 21, 2012 at Duke University Medical Center. He was born in Granville County, the son of the late Ernest and Evie Davis and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
Charlie knew no strangers and was a friend to any and all. He inspired, encouraged, and motivated many young people that were fortunate enough to be around him. He taught his hard work ethic by the life he lead and was happiest when he shared the bounty that he grew in his beautiful gardens. Heaven now has a new chief gardener.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, September 24, 2012 at Good Hope Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Davis; his daughter, Betty Grace Denton and by 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
