She was born on Feb. 22, 1912, at Olpe, Kan. She was married to George Ideus on Aug. 22, 1935, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of rural Beatrice. They lived and farmed north of Filley until retiring in 1988 and moving into Beatrice. She helped families after the birth of babies and did housekeeping.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell and was a member of a church circle. She was also a member of a knitting club in Beatrice. She enjoyed her grandchildren, needlework, flowers and especially helping others.
Survivors include one daughter, Norma Godden and husband Dwight of Omaha; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Jona Simonson and husband Don of Springfield and Renee Anderson and husband Stewart of Loudon, Tenn.; two sisters, Christina Ideus of Beatrice and Clara Hofeling of Lincoln; one brother, Marvin Paben of Beatrice; brother-in-law, Alvin Dorn of Beatrice; sister-in-law, Reka Trauernicht of Beatrice; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and TaLena Hinrichs Paben; her husband George, who died Dec. 20, 1999; two sons, Lawrence and Eldon; one daughter, Loretta Dorn; four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell with Pastor David Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery of rural Pickrell. A family prayer service will be held at 9:45 Aa.m. on Saturday at the church.
A memorial has been established to Zion Lutheran Church with Donald and Elnora Lenners in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 1 p.m. Thursday to 9 p.m. Friday and at the church one hour preceding the services on Saturday. The family will meet and greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
