Was born in Mass. in 1838, she later moved out west with her family to San Francisco CA. During the Civil War of 1861-65 she became the consort of Captain William H. Smith of Co. C 6th CA. Vol. Inf. who was stationed in Carson City NV. during the war. She died of a "High fever" on Nov. 11th 1864 at the age of 26 years & 21 days. She was laid to rest in the Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City Nevada.
On her grave it reads "Here lies a pilgrim of the world. With glory in her view: To Heaven she lifts her longing eyes And bid the world adieu"
