Alexander Harper was the man that founded Harpersfield (Unionville Village), OH 1798, later passed away the same year. He was also the man who founded the cemetery in which he is now buried.

He married Elizabeth Betsy Bartholomew on July 30, 1771 in Wooster, Otsego, New York, United States when he was 27 and had eight children, five sons and three daughters, with her. Col. Alexander died on September 10, 1798 in Harpersfield, Ashtabula, Ohio, United States when he was 54 and was buried in Harpersfield, Ashtabula County, Ohio, USA.
