JACKSONVILLE: Memorial services for Mr. J.C. Carter, 58, were held Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Center Chapel, in Jacksonville, with Revs. Clyde Hatten and Hak Bae Moon officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery. Mr. Carter died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Jacksonville Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Chong Paek Carter of Jacksonville; his daughter, Casey Carter Kirkman and her husband Aaron of Sylva, NC; a step-son, Jeff Farr of Anniston; one sister, Elaine Winfrey and her husband David of Diboll, Tex.; one brother, C.M. Hall and his wife Vicki of Clyde, NC; and two grandchildren, Reagan Makenzie Hall and Leila Delphia Kirkman.
Mr. Carter was a member of New Hope International Church in Anniston. He graduated from Pisgah High School in Canton, NC in 1972. He was a veteran of the US Army and served his country as an MP officer during the Persian Gulf War era. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. Carter, Sr. and Cathleen Hall Carter.
