"A surveyor, he reportedly froze to death, near Woodsboro, Maryland 19 May 1796. His widow, Sarah Carmack administered his estate in Frederick County, Maryland 15 June 1803."
In 1753, Edward BEATTY had a special warrant for 100 acres on tract, "Nothing Venture Nothing Have"; in a short time, he added 4 more acres to it. In 1752, there was a warrant to John CARMACK for 250 acres and in 1753, he surveyed 50 acres of tract "Hitt or Miss" and in 1755, warrant went to Beatty from Carmack.
