Lincoln C. "Inky" Freels Jr., 64, of Bristol, Tenn., died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Maryville, Tenn., a son of the late Lincoln C. and Pauline Bond Freels, and had lived in Bristol for 60 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, retired from Kingsport Press/Quebecor and was a member of Windsor Avenue Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Freels was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie F. DeFriece and Betty Rose Pollard.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Buchanan Freels; a son, David Freels and his wife, Kris, of Franklin, Tenn.; his brother, Robert Edward Freels of West Palm Beach, Fla.; one grandson, Zachary Freels; three special nephews, Robert Pollard, Dennis Pollard and Andrew Pollard; two grand-nieces, Adrienne and Kristen Pollard; and three grand-nephews, Kevin, Brad and Will Pollard.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Chapel of Oakley-Cook Funeral Home with Dr. Greg Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lester Delp, Bill Bingham, Wayne Ausmus, Chris Blankenship, Larry Connolly, Brad Pollard, Will Pollard and Kevin Pollard. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Johnson, Frank DeFriece, Ronnie Buchanan, Charlie McCary and the Men's Bible Class of Windsor Avenue Presbyterian Church.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Friday evening at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to King College.
