"The death of Elnora Hubbard Aplin, widow of the late Dwight Aplin, occurred at 2:45 o'clock Wednesday morning at her home near this village. Death followed a gradual decline due to the infirmities of advanced years. Mrs. Aplin was a daughter of the late Leonard and Clarissa (Roulson) Hubbard and was born May 1, 1847, in the town of Middlefield. March 1, 1890, she was united in marriage with Mr. Aplin, and they resided on Christian Hill until twenty-one years ago, when they moved to the home south of the village of Cooperstown. Mr. Aplin passed away in 1914. Surviving are an only daughters, Mrs. W. Hugh Champlin, who has been most devoted to her mother during her declining years; one sister, Mrs. Mary Smith of Clayville; one grandson, Harold H. Champlin of Cooperstown, and eight nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Bertha Eaton and Miss Hazel Smith of this village; Jesse and Wilfred Hubbard, Mrs. George W. Holiday and Carl Smith, all of Middlefield township; Glen Smith of Troy and Floyd Smith of Clayville ... burial will be made in the family plot in the Fly Creek village cemetery."
