Mary Jane Stump was born in Warren county, Indiana, October 20, 1852, and removed to Dallas county, Iowa, the following year with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stump, where she has since resided. In the summer of 1873 she united with the M. E. church and has since been an earnest and faithful member. She was united in marriage to W. B. Kinnick March 3, 1875, and resided near Adel until death claimed her April 15th, 1896. Her husband and five children survive her and three little ones have gone before. The funeral was held at the M. E. church Friday morning, conducted by Rev. C. L. Nye of Perry, a former pastor of the deceased at this place. A large number of friends showed their sympathy with the afflicted family by being present at the last sad rites. After the ceremony the mortal remains were carried to their last resting place in Oakdale cemetery. To the bereaved family the NEWS extends sincere sympathy.
