Myrene Elenora Norfleet Benteman, 80, Topeka, formerly of Concordia, Mo., died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at her home.
She was born Oct. 10, 1924, in Henley, Mo., south of Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Ralph R. and Anna Pearl Henley Norfleet.
She married Norman Benteman on March 6, 1946, in Jefferson City, Mo. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Barry Benteman, and his wife, Mona, Tecumseh; a daughter, Barbara Nordgren, and her husband, Eric, Topeka; six grandsons; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.
Family visitation will be from 7 until 9 p.m. Sunday at Bethel United Church of Christ in Concordia, Mo. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Following the funeral service, the family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m. at the family home in Concordia, Mo.
A graveside service will follow at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or to Be thel United Church of Christ.
Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka is in charge of arrangements.
Myrene is my mother's 1st cousin-in-law.
