(Pontiac Leader - 30 Nov. 1998) Jean L. Benway, 67 of Gibson City, and formerly of Strawn, daughter of a Pontiac woman, died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday Nov. 29, 1998 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, the Rev. Robert Spilman officiating.
Burial will be in St. Rose's Cemetery, Strawn. Pallberers will be Ronald Benway, Doug Benway, Jim Haab, Todd Haab, Jeff Haab and Steve Walsh.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home with a wake service at 8 p.m.
She was born Feb. 16, 1944 at Danbury, the daughter of Ralph and Mildred (Reavis) Hair. She married A. Jerome Benway June 27, 1953 at Gibson City. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Lonnie Benway, Strawn and Jeff Benway, Bloomington, one daughter, Shelley Ladtkow, Streator, her mother Mildred Maas, Pontiac and four grandchildren
Her father preceded her in death.
Mrs. Benway had been a resident at Gibson City for three years having previously lived in Strawn.
She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Strawn.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Gibson City Hospital Ambulance Co. or a charity of the donor's choice.
