Ruben Lawrence Adams, born June 13, 1895 Graves County, Kentucky - died March 21, 1927 drowned in the Ohio River when crossing the river from Brookport, Illinois to Paducah, Kentucky with his father-in-law Franklin P. Dukes. Rube's body eventually washed ashore in Cairo, Illinois. Son of Elisha Napoleon Adams and Ida Reeves and husband of (1) Ella May Luckett and (2) Ommie Catherine Dukes.
