Donald William Hartman Sr., 89, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was one of three sons, born to Clifford and Florence (Bumcrots) Hartman. Donald was a Sylvania Burnham High School graduate. He proudly served in the United States Army in WWII. His first marriage to Lila (Hamway) ended with her passing in 1984. He married Annie Strawser in 1994. Don was a member of the Maumee Elks Club, and an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers. He loved animals; raising cows, miniature ponies, chickens, barn cats and of course his faithful dogs and cats. Don also collected antique tractors. His love of the land was proudly apparent in his half acre garden that thrived under his care. Before retiring to tend to his land and animals, Don owned The Perfect Packaging Company. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Annie; daughter, Kathy (Anil) Sharma;
grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents; son, Donald Hartman Jr.; two brothers, and first wife, Lila.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Thursday, September 20, 2012, from 11 a.m., until the Funeral ceremony begins at 1 p.m. Donald will be laid to rest at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park where committal services will be private. Those wishing to give memorials in Donald's memory are asked to consider the Toledo Humane Society or the Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
