Bernadette Catherine Enyeart, 86, a retired nurse, died August 31 at Beverly Healthcare Center in Monterey.
She was born Jan. 19, 1914 in Cornlea, Nebraska, lived in Marino Calley for many years, then moved to Carmel six years ago.
A licensed vocational nurse, she worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange County for 25 years and was also a private duty nurse. After raising nine children, she went back to school to earn an LVN license.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Carmel Valley and served on the Residents Association of Pacific Meadows.
Mrs. Enyeart is survived by three sons, Donald Enyeart of Shreveport, Louisiana, Marion Enyeart Of Moreno Valley and Kenneth Enyeart of Denver; five daughters, Jean Butterfield of Pacific Grove, Gracelyn Palmer of Chandler, Arizona, Bernadette Pentacost of Eugene, Oregon, Judy Foster of Westminster and Barbara Wilson of Fairfield; two sisters, Julia Flynn of Rohnert Park and Christine Schult of Sedona; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth, and a daughter, Merelene Williams.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at noon September 29 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel
in Carmel Valley. Interrment will take place at Columbus Cemetery in Columbus,
Nebraska.
The family suggests that any memorial contributions be sent to the American Heart Association, 1514 Mofett Street, Salinas 93906; the American Cancer Society, 220 Country Club Gate, Suite 22, Pacific Grove 93950 or the Epilepsy Foundation.
