Native Of Remington Dies At Lafayette

Mrs. Mary F. (Mae) Johnston, 81, died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, in St. Elizabeth hospital, Lafayette, where she had been a patient since May 7. She had been in ill health for several years.

Born in Remington, she lived there until moving to Lafayette in 1947. In 1946 she married to Emil "Jack" Johnston, who survives.

Mrs. Johnston was a member of St. Boniface Catholic church and Ladies Society.

Surviving with the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Ira (Eileen) Hamsy of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. John (Louise) Stombaugh of Winamac. Also surviving are two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were to be held Saturday, June 8, at 9:00 a.m. in St. Boniface Catholic church with Rev. James Heidlage officiating. Burial was to be in Remington cemetery.
