Mrs. Terry graduated from Rockingham High School, and was also a graduate of Kings Business College in Raleigh, NC. She was a bookkeeper in several businesses and retired from RCC. Mildred married Beverley Terry on June 17, 1942. Mrs. Terry was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church in Rockingham. She sang in the choir for forty years and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for many years.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 21, 2012 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church in Rockingham with Rev. Mike Sykes and Rev. Allison Farrah officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by her husband, Beverley Terry; her mother and father; her sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Al Sloan; and brothers, Bill Bray and Marshall Bray.
Surviving are her sister-in-law, Mary S. Bray of Rockingham; two cousins, Martha Ann Scarborough of Rockingham, and Earlene Bray of Goldsboro; one nephew, Bill Sloan of Charlotte; two nieces, Judy Lumpkin of Charleston, SC, and Marty Lynch and her husband, Bill of Daphne, AL; and her loving and devoted pet, "Sugar".
