MINDEN, LA - Funeral services for Maxine Williams Allen, 83, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Minden. Officiating will be Rev. Wayne Dubose. Interment to follow at Minden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, LA.
Mrs. Allen passed away January 12, 2006 in Minden, LA. She was born in Texarkana, AR. Mrs. Allen was a member of First Baptist Church for 65 years and Primary Sunday School Director for many years. She owned and operated, along with her husband Eugene Allen, Al-N-Way Cleaners. She was a devoted daughter, daughter-in-law, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents: Sam and Rosa Williams and sister: Inez Humphrey.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years: Eugene Allen of Minden; son: Jerry Allen and wife Judy of New Orleans, LA; daughter: Janet Allen Rush and husband William of Natchitoches, LA; brother: Sam Williams and wife Thelma of Minden, LA; grandchildren: Jeannie and Tracy Pevy, Jennifer and Clayton Long, Jessica and Tim Lee, Jay and Melissa Allen, Brandon Wilburn and wife Jenny, and Jana Collum and husband Shannon; great grandchildren: Tyler and Thomas Pevy, Courtney and Abby Long, Laken and Erin Lee, Hunter Allen, and Max Daeson Wilburn.
Pallbearers will be Jay Allen, Brandon Wilburn, Tracy Pevy, Clayton Long, Tim Lee, and Shannon Collum.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Friendship Sunday School Class and the Sonrisers.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Minden.
