Emma G. Mininger, 92, of Jackson Township, went home to be with Jesus on May 30, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband of almost 60 years, Jonas L. Mininger, in May 2000, and her siblings, Fannie, Bertha, William, Edna, Mary, Ruth, and Naomi. Emma is survived by her children, Lois and Bob Frantz, Thompson PA, Mark and Dorrie Mininger, Jackson Township PA, David and Marian Mininger, Stuarts Draft VA, Grace and Mike Chace, Chambersburg PA, Richard and Linda Huber Mininger, New Cumberland PA, and Ken and Rhoda Mininger, Goshen IN; 9 grandchildren, Brian, Jeff, Nathan, Amy, Aaron, Kiva, Stephanie, Emily, and Kiera; 6 great grandchildren, Michaela, Anna, Rachel, Kaitlyn, Konstance, and Avery; one brother, Norman and Helen Good; a sister-in-law, Ella Mininger; numerous nieces and nephews.
Emma was an active member of the Lakeview Mennonite Church, serving as the Pastor's wife from 1961-1985. She was known for her generous hospitality, "the more the merrier." She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and quilting.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their care and assistance enabling Emma to remain at home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Lakeview Mennonite Church with Pastor Blaine Detwiler officiating. Interment will be made in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead PA, or from noon until 2 pm at the church, prior to the service.
