Biography: WILLIAM ROYSE, farmer and stock-raiser, and sixth in a family of thirteen children born to Aaron and Elizabeth Royse, is a native of Bartholomew County, Nineveh Township. He was reared to agricultural pursuits, educated in the common schools, and, until attaining his majority, assisted his father on the home farm. February 19, 1870, his marriage was solemnized with Mary E. Truman, who was born in Ohio, October 8, 1852. She is a daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Truman, and was brought from her native State to Bartholomew County, Ind., when but two years old. After his marriage, Mr. Royse rented land of his father for five years, and then purchased forty acres where he now lives, to which he has added from time to time, until he now owns 245 acres, the greater part of which is under the highest state of cultivation. Mr. and Mrs. Royse have five children, viz.: Alice, John F., Lillie M., infant daughter unnamed, born and died October, 1881, and George A.
