At his home in Walworth, Sabbath, July 8, of a complication of diseases, Mr. Eli Ayers, aged 70 years and 8 months.

Deceased was born at Stoe Creek, New Jersey, in 1822, was married in 1846, and came to Wisconsin in 1852, settled in Walworth, where he has since resided, except at intervals of a few months, when he would take up residence in Milton. The funeral took place Monday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Simeon Babcock conducting the services. Deceased was a devout, active and earnest member of the S. D. B. church, having been converted in early life. His only children, Mrs. T. A. Saunders of Milton, and a son residing at Delavan, and his wife, survive him. He was a quiet, unassuming man, and greatly esteemed by all for his many good qualities.
