MORRIS, HUBERT C., age 88, a native of Lamar County and a longtime resident of Birmingham, passed away March 14, 2001.
Mr. Morris was an ironworker and retired after 30 years of service with US Steel. He was a member of Central Park Baptist Church, former member of Hunter Street Baptist Church, and a member of the Central Park Masonic Lodge #808.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bertha Sanford Morris, sons, Layne Morris of Pleasant Grove, and Donald Morris of Birmingham; daughter, Carolyn Jones of Talladega; grandchildren, Danielle, Jason, Robin, Phillip, and Patrick; 1 great grandson; brothers, Rick Morris, Buford Morris, J. M. Morris, Duke Morris, Bivin Morris, and Clay Morris.
Graveside services will be held Friday March 16, 2001, 11:00 A. M. at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Danny Summerlin will be officiating. Family will receive friends Friday, 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel.
