She was a retired Sales Clerk at Wanamaker's Department Store and a member of the former St. Ann Roman Catholic Church and a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton.
Alice was the daughter of the late John and Effie Freeland Anspach and the widow of Eugene A. Vance, Jr. She is survived by one son, Eugene A. Vance III of Steelton; one daughter, Patricia A. Schneider and her husband, Dennis L. of Quarryville; four grandchildren, Troy M. Schneider, Amy M. Shehan and her husband, Matthew, Gregory E. Vance, and Evan R. Bensch. She was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Baldwin and a brother, William Anspach.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 S. Second St., Steelton with Very Rev. Robert M. Gillelan, Jr., VG, her Pastor, as celebrant. Private burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in her church. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg, 4000 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17112 or Grane Hospice Care Inc., 105 Gamma Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
