CHRISTOPHER -- Wanda M. Williams, 91, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, in Shawnee Christian Nursing Home in Herrin.
She operated a beauty shop on Old North Road and was an Avon representative for 30 years.
Wanda attended Brown Business School in St. Louis and Summers Beauty School in West Frankfort.
She was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church in Mulkeytown, and also attended Mulkeytown Baptist Church.
Wanda was born June 26, 1921, in Mulkeytown, to Wiley Coleman and Olive Mae (Purcell) Arterberry.
She married Dwight Lyle Williams, and he preceded her in death Jan. 12, 1971.
Survivors include daughter, Rita Williams of Christopher; stepdaughter, Margaret Haugen of Cicero; nieces, Carol Best of St. Louis and Shirley Toney of Savoy; nephews, Mike and Paula Williams of Texas, Dale and Deloris Williams of Texas, Kip and Melinda Taylor of Texas and Larry and Caroline Taylor of Alabama; special cousins, Edna Mae Neal of Washington, Marvin Ward and Marilyn Teel of Christopher and Harley and Reba Teel of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Sibyl Dye; and brother, Ralph Arterberry.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, in Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, with Brother Dan Budde. Burial will be in Mulkeytown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
