Greenwood Cotton Mill, April 5 [1909] -

It is with sadness that we chronicle the death of Mrs. James F. Chandler. She died yesterday, the 4th [April 4, 1909], surrounded by her loved ones. Her devoted relatives and friends have done all that they could for six months to relieve her suffering, but to no avail. She had pellafra. She was a noble Christian woman and bore her suffering with Christian Fortitude. Before her marriage Mrs. Chandler was Miss Sarah Long, a member of an honored family of Laurens. She was twice married. Her first husband was Mr. W. H. Redden, by whom she had six daughters. Mr. Redden died about 13 years ago. She is survived by two children by her marriage with Mr. James Chandler, a little gird and a boy. The body was carried to Poplar Springs, in Laurens County. Mrs. Chandler was 48 years old.
