INMAN – Leon V. Friesen, 86, died on July 24, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. He was born Nov. 24, 1925, at Buhler, the son of J. S. and Mary Unruh Friesen.
He was a member of First Mennonite Church, Hutchinson. In 1948, he married Katherine Launhart. In 1993, he married Norma Tennant Ray at Bella Vista, Ark. She survives of Inman. Other survivors are: his six children, Lorin Friesen of Austin, Texas, Eric Friesen of Olathe, Kan., Marcile Dean of Topeka, Kan., Leanne Leslie of Tallahassee, Fla., Karie Snyder of Overland Park, Kan., Janet Friesen of Tallahassee, Fla.; three stepchildren, Charles Ray of Versaile, Mo., Jeffrey Ray of Nickerson, Jamie Ray Camfield of Mesa, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous step grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, LaVerne.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Buhler Mortuary, Buhler. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, at Pleasant View Home Chapel with Pastor Dan Dalke officiating. Burial will follow at Buhler Municipal Cemetery. Memorial may be sent to Pleasant View Home or First Mennonite Church, in care of Buhler Mortuary, 120 N. Main, Buhler, KS 67522.
