Violet C. Mcarthur, 86, of Boston, MA, died September 29 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
She was born in Sanford in November 15, 1921, a daughter of Seymour and Bessie (Staples) Ainsworth.
She lived most of her adult life in Boston, working as a housekeeper and a caretaker. Violet developed a love for music at an early age as her mother was an accomplished pianist. Violet loved to listen to her play and would sing along.
Her husband, Walter Mcarthur, died some years ago.
Survivors include a daughter Mary Beth "Mae" Foster of Boston, a brother, Ira Ainsworth and his wife Pauline of Sanford, two sisters, Ethel Lemire of Sanford, Alice Bragg of Houlton, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no services. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery in Lebanon. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford
