NEWTON, FRANCIS R. "FRANK," 80, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012 at his residence. He was retired from the old International Harvester, he was a member of the Barkley Democrat Club, Knight A.C., J. H. Sportsman Club and a longtime member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Mary Newton; brothers, Bill, Joe, Jim, Pat, and Lawrence; sisters, Jeanette Wade, Trease Frazier and Margie Burton. He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Mattingly; and a son, Michael Newton; grandchildren Amanda Mattingly, Michael Newton Jr., and Melissa Rose; and three great-grandchildren; sisters, Eula Clerici, Martha Murphy, Ann Hardin, and Thelma Hardin; friends, Jackie and Terry and his longtime friend, Laverne who cared for him. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date at Most Blessed Sacrament. Memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus of Louisville. Online condolences may be left at, www.archlheadysou thernfh.com.
