MARCIA ANN ACKERSON, PORTLAND, MI, Age 75, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012. She was born on May 7, 1937, in Eagle, MI, the daughter of Harry and Margaret (Moyer) Smith.
Mrs. Ackerson was a Life Member of the Eastern Star.
Preceding her in death were her parents; siblings, Geraldine (Lakin) Hatch, Harriet (Junker) Patrick, Douglas (Margaret) Smith, and Richard Smith. Surviving are her husband, Bruce Ackerson; children, Mark (Sandra) Ackerson, and Melissa (Jerry Pelak) Ackerson;granddaughter, Kerri Ackerson; siblings, Mary Alice Lawless, Roger (Joan) Smith, Allen (Lois) Smith; sister-in-law, Carolyn Smith.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2012, at the Portland United Methodist Church, with Pastor Keith Treman presiding. Interment will follow at North Eagle Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge St, Portland. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to North Eagle Cemetery Society or the Portland United Methodist Church.
