one of His Daughters ( Carrie Johnson) sent me the following.
Donald Fred Married Bonnie Jeanne Garner on april 6th, 1949 He was 19 years old and His Wife was 17 years old.
Together they had eight kids. Carrie anne Johnson,Donald Glen Johnson, Gary Stephen Johnson,Kenneth Wayne Johnson, Mae Elizabeth Johnson, Karen Lynne Johnson, Shirley Jeanne Johnson. and the twin Brother to Carrie, Carl Thomas Johnson.
Carrie said--My daddy Donald Fred, as my Mother and Family Lovingly referred to Him at times, Especially if He was in "husband" trouble or being silly. The silly part happened a lot. My Daddy had the greatest sence of humor I have ever known anyone to possess. He was a very kind, Loving, compassionate and funny man as well as Loyal and honorable.
One of His Grandchildran (Cori Johnson) sent me a note saying that She is the oldest of his grandchildran and that He was a wonderful Grandfather and always had time to do things with us outside, He helped me with my science fair school projects and was always a source of wonderful information. many of my favorate child memories are with Him. I was fortunate to have Him in my life for 24 years.and She wishes that her two boys could have known Him.
Donald Fred served time in Kentucky, Germany, and Panama as well as Fort Hood Texas where He served until His retirement. That is where Donald and His Wife Bonnie wanted to live out their lives together.
