Decie Evelyn Massey, age 92, of Birmingham, AL, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at The Oaks on Parkwood in Bessemer, AL. She was born in Phil Campbell, AL, on September 8, 1920 to the late Cebron Claud & Mamie Campbell Thompson.
She was a former seamstress at Serbin and was a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Grady Howard Massey, son, Robert Massey, sister, Emma Jean Crutchfield, brother, Elma Thompson, and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Massey is survived by daughters, Doris & Jerry Wallace of Huntsville, AL, Betty & Don Blackburn of Birmingham, AL, son, Ronnie & Janice Massey of Fayetteville, TN, daughter-in-law, Glenda Massey of Blountsville, AL, sisters, Muriel Helton of Hickory, NC, Myrtle Alice Gilliam of Nashville, TN, brothers, Edward Thompson and Bill Thompson, both of Nashville, TN, twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services held on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Kirkland Baptist Church with Bro. Neil Glausier officiating and Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial in Kirkland Cemetery.
