Bill's remains were cremated and remain with his family. He has a heart as big as the sky and a spirit as free as the wind ... he will be with us forever in our hearts.

Bill was closely involved with the San Francisco Boys and Girls Clubs and the SFPD Youth Wilderness Program, leading young folks in wilderness activities and rafting in the state. He loved all, and was loved by most. He would give the shirt off his back for someone less fortunate.

Bill was a young man in the prime of his life, a college student and excited to be on his own for the very first time. He breathed his last in a tragic fire in his illegal apartment in San Francisco. Let Bill stand as a tribute to all others who met a similar fate, and to scream for the changes necessary in housing conditions for the less fortunate in that "world class" city.
