Myrtle L. Railsback Brown, age 88, left this earthly life to join her husband, Raymond Brown, in their heavenly home on Friday, August 10, 2001.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2001, at the First United Methodist Church in Seymour, Texas, with Rev. Larry Crumpton, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brown was born February 27, 1913, in Denison, Texas, the daughter of James Martin and Nettie May Railsback.

She married Raymond Brown on December 19, 1931, in Munday, Texas, and four children were born to this union.

She was a loving housewife and a devoted mother. Mrs. Brown was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Seymour.

Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Raydean Damon of Crawford, Texas, Evelyn Bailes of Jacksonville, Texas and Ruth and Larry Shook of Arlington, Texas; one son, Robert Brown of Seymour; two sisters, Pearl Carter and Ruby Crawford of Seymour; 10 grandchildren, Cindy Damon and Jamie Burgess of Crawford, Trey Godfrey of Sachse, Texas, Tami Stinger of Corinth, Texas, Tara Welch of Cedar Park, Texas, Jay Bailes of Jacksonville, Texas, Jan Del Toro of Grapevine, Neal Brown of Lampasas, Lisa Wilson of Amarillo, Texas and Stephanie Vinton of Las Vegas, Nevada; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; a host of nieces and nephews, and countless treasured friends.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Charlie and Floyd Railsback; two sisters, Artie Peek and Edna Everett; a granddaughter, Teresa Beckner; and an infant great-grandson, Joseph Joshua Beckner.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers included members of the Escalator Class and Methodist Men including Robert Patterson, Rea Carter, Gene Robinson, Richard Cox, Frank Simaichl and Harry Meetze.

Mrs. Brown was an exceptional lady who lovingly supported her husband for 68 years, provided devotion and security to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews and friends until her passing. Her last request was the she be able to tell everyone of her family and friends that she loved them. Mrs. Brown's faith and trust in God sustained and comforted her during her illness. She will remain a shining example to us all.
