Bruce Hayes

Bruce Hayes, 72, rancher of Sumatra, MT. died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 7:30 o'clock this morning in his car shortly after leaving the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kinser, where he and his wife had been visiting.

Mr. Hayes body slumped in the seat after the car, driven by his step son, Roy Belcher, had traveled 300 yards from the Kinser home.

The body is expected to be sent to Forsyth, MT., where funeral and Burial services will be held.

Mr. Hayes was born in Monroe Co. KY., April 18, 1875.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Horton Belcher Hayes, to whom he was married six years ago, four daughters, Mrs. P.B. McDonald of Tulsa, OK., Mrs. Goldie Hicks of Havre, MT., Mrs. Viola C. Manson of Missoula, MT., Mrs. Clara Ballard of Macksburg, IA., one son, Clarence Hayes of Sumatra, MT., a step daughter, Mrs. Virgil Beller of Barren River Road, and three step sons, Paul Belcher this city, Curtis Belcher of Lexington, and Roy Belcher of Sumatra, MT.

Also surviving are a brother, Vanus Hayes of Gamaliel, KY., and two sisters, Mrs. Nannie West of Gamaliel and Miss Ida Hayes of Henderson, TN., Mr. and Mrs. Hayes and Mr. Belcher had been visiting Mrs. Hayes brother, Fayette Horton and sister Mrs. Kinser and other relative for the past three months.

Mr. Hayes suffered a heart attack 10 day ago, but was believed to have recovered sufficiently to make the return trip to Montana on which he had started this morning.

Mr. Hayes was a member of the church of Christ.
