Mrs. Yancy went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, in Tyler. She was born Nov. 14, 1929, in Dallas to the late Jim and Audie Lavenia Quick Halbert. She has lived in Tyler and the New Chapel Hill area all of her life. She was a housewife and homemaker and worked for the Tyler Police Department for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester A. Yancy, and a daughter, Debra A. Phillips.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 903-533-9991.
