Ester Cora Noel

The funeral for Ester Cora Noel, 93, of 710 Ailcia St., Martinsville, who died Sept. 3, 2012, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hairston Funeral Home with Brother Alver Greene officiating. Burial will be in A&H Cemetery, 2nd Street, Martinsville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a half-hour before the service.

She was born April 16, 1919, in Union Town, Pa., to Babe Roberson and Mariah Manns Roberson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Howard Noel.

She retired from the Red Level Plant of American Furniture, and she was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Martinsville congregation, for 59 years.

Surviving are a daughter, Roxie Noel Walker of the home; a son, Daniel Frank Noel of the home; adopted son, Sherman Jarnette; a sister, Jarnetta Jarnette of Martinsville; a brother, Bardell Jarnette of Philadelphia, Pa.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Hairston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
