State Official's Son-in-Law Killed
NORFOLK, Neb. -- AP -- Gerald Faubel, 26, Norfolk, suffocated Tuesday when a 14 foot sewer ditch caved in on him.
Faubel, son-in-law of State Liquor Commissioner N. B. Pont, was employed by the Murray and Ball Construction Co., which is extending the city's sewer to a new addition west of Norfolk.
He was working in the ditch when the cave-in occurred. Fellow workers dug out his head and face, but he already was dead.
Survivors include his widow and two small children, ages 8 months and 2 years; his father, George Faubel Sr., Pender; mother, Mrs. John Lyman, Casper, Wyo., sister, Mrs. Frank Perry, Ord, and brother, George, Norfolk.
